    Hi guys,

I'm having a problem with my dc240 and its network connectivity. Most mornings it takes 8-10 reboots for it to be available on the network. It's running a fiery bustled controller x3ety. I have the dc240 set for a static ip with the ip address reserved for the dc240's mac address in the router. When it starts and doesnt work, the network settings are not shown at all on the system settings page on the UI.

I have tried reinstalling the fiery, shortening the network run, changing network cables, changing hubs, cleaning out the fiery from dust - all to no avail.

When I connected a monitor to the fiery it just shows 'booting kernal' - but it shows this regardless if it gets a connection or not, so presume this is normal.

I found a guy having the same problem as me here...

    Xerox DC250 and Fiery Problems

I contacted him a few days ago and he confirmed to me that a reinstall by an engineer fixed it for him. He did mention that his dropped out during the day, with mine once its working it stays working all day.

Figure my next move would be to change the ram but I'm suspecting a main board issue.

I'm at a loss, can anyone help?

Hey, this could be a driver compatibility problem, or in the worst case scenario indeed a main board issue. RAM's got nothing to do here. Try it on another machine see if all xerox hardware is fine.

Am having the same issue on our Xerox 5065II which is very similar to the DC250.

Everything was working fine, disconnected everything and blew out the dust. Didn't start up after this. Took out hard drive and put into another computer and it loads the kernel, then thinking you need the EFI card to progress everything seems normal.

The lights come on the MB, no fans at startup. Changed power supply and same thing, lights come on the MB, no fans. Thinking it must be something else.

Did you fix your problem? .. if so, how please?
