I've been looking at some things for sale on ebay by Midwest Printing Equipment (ebay id: mwprintequip).

I noticed their prices are higher than what a lot of other people are asking for things. I was wondering if they're like JJ Bender and just over-inflate all their prices or if they actually do any refurbishing/parts replacement to justify a higher price.

Anyone ever deal with them? Good or bad stories to share?

    Thanks.

I would avoid them I contacted them about 2 years ago to get a service manual and it took them a year and a half to contact me about it. They just pump up there prices, certainly don't buy a press from them unless you yourself goes and gives it a test run

I think they do a good job showing things honestly - I like the videos they shoot of folders and such to show it running and the detailed photos they are willing to provide. I trust them more than a totally unknown seller, but you still have to do your due dillegence.

I delt with them for many years, just recently sold them one of my oki cx3641. Made a several purchases- 2 baum folders and bunch of other stuff, called them number of times and Andrew always helped me even if did not lead him to make any money. They know their equipment and had been doing this for a long time and have reputation to protect. While that comes at price, they are most likely not
the most expesive sellers out there.

I don't recommend buying from them, I bought an item that was described by them as in good condition, very clean, complete and in working order...the item arrived filthy with parts missing and broken and completely unusable in contradiction to what they advertised. Shipping was over inflated also. I paid a lot more to buy this item from them expecting a lot more since I was paying a lot more, but was very very disappointed in the transaction...They did however refund my money but it took getting eBay involved and threatening to sue...anyway, I don't think I will buy from them again.

I don't know, sounds like a unpleasant situation for Discountprintingservice, but over the number of years I bought a few folders from them without any issues worth to mention, as a freebie I got a good Business-Friend out of Andrew, many times he did provide advice and opinion on many questions I had and that is years I after purchase and irrelevant to it. Value of that is hard to estimate plus consider the fact that a person who never met me before takes his time in the middle of the day to explain to the stranger (me), not just to explain, more like educate on specifics of my questions.
At some point we wound up bidding on articles from the same PrintShop auction - even their stuff members were extremely helpful, they were the only one with a forklift, helped me and everyone else despite the fact that we were all competitors...
They bought few printers and other things from me and again - simple and pleasant - Do you have it? how much? Done...
I understand that if person is unhappy with the purchase - there must be the reason but on other hand Used Equipment market is really tricky: Seller thinks that whatever he sells, for the money he asks is good enough where buyer expects excellence and quiet often things don't match-up.
As my personal opinion - Andrew / Midwest Equipment two thumbs up.
    Roman.
