Xerox Colour 550 Problems: Drivers and won't continue printing after a jam occurs.

    Hi All,

    I had a Xerox Colour 550 with intergrated Fiery contoller installed at the start of December 2012 and i'm having some difficulties with it.

    The two main problems i have are;

    1) I am running Windows 8 and CS 6 and whenever i print something from Indesign all the driver settings are lost by the time the job reaches the Fiery, meaning the printer tries to print the job with default settings, i then have to cancel the job, open the settings in Command Workstation, reapply all the settings i want and resubmit the job.

    2) This one is the real pain. Whenever the printer jams and a clear it or it requires me to flip the sheets over for manual duplex job the machine won't start printing again where it left off. Depending which service pack i have installed on the firey depends on the printers response, if i have SP3 running the printer does nothing except say printing (even though it is doing nothing). If service pack 4 is loaded onto the Fiery i get a 127 - 211 error and still it does nothing. The only resolution is to turn the printer off and on again.

    Does anyone else get this problems and doeas anyone know any solutions to them.

    Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

    UPDATE

    So it seems that no one else has this problem, it also stumped all the Xerox engineers that visited, so finally Xerox have decided to replace the machine.

    The new machine arrived on Friday and so far none of the problems i was experincing have occured, fingers crossed it stays that way.

    what is the machine software level and which fiery do you have

    Hi,

    I have (and had) an integrated Fiery

    We tried nearly every software level on the machine and they all had various issues.

    It looks to me like there was some issue with the actual fiery itself as since the machine has been changed none of the issues i had before are occuring.
