Have Jeff or Dan give me a call and I can email you that part of the manual. The press I repaired was a 628. It could have a different model drive though.

Installed the new drive. Now it's the fan on the motor. Error code uU went away.
GOing to deinstall the new drive and see if the error code comes back.

Here's where we stand. New fan motor came in Fedex 2 minutes ago. We are going to have the fan swopped out. Check press. If no error code & no motor rumbling we are going to have our old drive re-installed. Then test run press. If no rumbling from motor and no error code we are good to go and will return drive. If no rumbling BUT we see and error code, we'll run press and see if there is any changes.

2 questions: Does error code indicate damage to drive?
Can drive be reset to eliminate error code?

    Thanks,

    Mike

PS Jeff told me he's been in touch. Thanks for input.

    Final outcome.

Once fan was installed the noise & problems went away. De-installed new drive and checked press again. All is OK. We shipped back the new drive.
Probably never needed the optical encoder.
