There are 4 laserunits which contain each 16 diodes. I'm printing 12 years know and never had one to replace.

There are several people on this forum selling parts I think they can answer your question.

Hello, How do you get the extra life of your diodes?
On the Log, I've got very different power value for diodes.... some of them: 130, other (few): 24, 41, 61....
Every 2 weeks I have to make the 60% pattern and spend time adding or substracting power... It becomes boring to me.
    Thanks for sharing your experience.

I almost never have to adjust laservalues, I clean the laserglass on a very regular base with isopropylalcohol and keep the machine very clean. I dose the washing fluid with a syringe (10 ml) to prevent it dripping of the rollers. If i have to adjust I use a file created myself (HDS Screen) and adjust visual on the plate itself.

As I said it's not often I have to adjust strength of lasers. I have to say I image plates always on 10.000 rpm in stead of 16.000 rpm (need less laserpower)

    Laser diodes

Hi Marc, I am glad to hear that you have managed to print for so long without replacing any diodes. How have you achieved this - any special care / precautions to take in order to increase life span of the diodes? Please advise.

    Regards

    Shawn

I do not have really precautions but I keep the machine as clean as possible, be aware the cooling device is filled with enough water. I dose the washfluid with a syringe to prevend dripping of the rollers and precut all the paper (use a sharp knive and use only paper cut behind the knive) that must run thru the press.

    Hi Marc

What do you mean "dose the wash fluid with a syringe"? Are you adding something to the wash fluid?

When you say precut all the paper, do you mean trim the edge feeding into the machine (always)? If we are using cut paper from our paper merchants, do we need to trim again? How does this help?

Sorry for all the questions - just trying to understand you better.

    Thanks - Shawn

I use a syringe to dose exactly 10 ml washfluid to my rollers. I trim the paper myself instead of merchants to prevent paperdust and hikeys.
