Can't seem to get my fold lined up on the 714. Double parallel 8.5x 14.

The sheets are square, I've run the quarter test. The problem seems to be that after hitting the first fold plate, the remaining sheet in the feed chute gets cocked toward the gear side. Maybe an internal feed issue... I hope I don't have to tear this sucker apart. Any advice would be appreciated.

sounds like roller pressure. Do the pull test with a strip in the rollers about a inch from each end and check for even pull. you sure your feeding into the rollers square? Do not check at the fold plate stop check at the first rolller pinch or when sheet gets to the feed plate edge.

    Roller pressure it is

Update: The rollers are indeed the problem. After posting the initial problem I set to find out what was wrong. Turns out the rollers are swoll on the ends. Tested pressures by putting a strip of 60# offset (stock I am folding) on the op, middle, and gear infeed. Rotated the handwheel to feed the strips partially, and pulled them out to check my pressure. The ends were very tight, while the center had almost 20 mil clearance.

Ordered a Baum rebuild kit and got it in this afternoon. I am concerned about the roller bushings because the motor gives an erratic pulse corresponding with a thud that follows folder speed. So I will tear it apart and rebuild it to have what may be a functional folder.

    Updates to come.
