Registration Mismatch

Hello All,

I am facing a strange problem with my C220. The color registration is going everywhere. its not consistent at all. The shift direction is also not constant. Whereas if I am running a preprinted paper (back side printing) the problem is not there at all.
I have tried changing drum unit/ cleaned laser unit / IBT belt checked / IBT sensor cleaned. No use so far.
The shift is in all four colors. Sometimes the magenta going up next print yellow goes sideways. The frequency is also not constant. Sometimes 10 prints come well sometimes continuous misregistered prints come.
But while printing back side the problem seems to be gone.

Please give me solution. The machine is 9 months old and has clocked 80K impressions.

 

I know what you are facing to...
I own C452 - same problem.
My engineer had talked to regional technicals and they said - "Machine limitations" - there's nothing you can do it...

Thanks for replying. I dont think its a machine limitation. The registration was perfect few days back and suddenly it started to shift. The shift is also not constant not frequent also. 2-3 good copies and it goes off again.

 

How much registration is shifted?
Mine is not much but it's visible on colored text.
And on what type and weight paper you are printing?

The registration shift is varying sometimes 0.5 mm, 1mm,2mm,3mm,4mm. The worst part is If there is word called " Yellow Brick Road" The Yellow word is perfectly registered and so is Road word but the brick word is completely misregistered. The problem is with all types of media. I am using 100 GSM Excel Pro and 170, 250 gsm Sappi Matt. The shift is sometimes in magenta, sometimes in cyan and sometimes in yellow.

 

If it's more than 1 mm, than there is a problem...
Mine is about 0.5 mm ...

 

Yes, Its sometimes more than 5 mm. I hope this forum will help me out with the solution.

 

what could i suggest...
from service menu i would try changing printing mode from „productivity“ to „quality“ (can't remember how exactly it calls).
It prints a bit slower than...
