    Hello
I am considering a second hand 2007 presstek 52. It would be helpful with some feedback from current owners. Bad experiences? good experiences? reliability? Level of satisfaction. General advice...

Thanks in advance for all feedback

Hi, I would hate to steer anyone away from here as it very resourceful place to be but you might find some answers here..... as it dedicated to the kind of press you're asking about.

In 4 years there are only a handful of posts on the presstek 52 from googling. I wonder how many are running compared to the first generation DIs?

    Hello Jarle
I have a Presstek 52 DI that has 16 million print impression on it and have not had any issues that are not expected
to be honest the presstek 52 DI is really a pretty good press
I had the QM DI (Heidleberg) for a number of years, I doubt that I would go that route again.
    Hope this helps

thanks kgriffes, good to know. in the meanwhile i have just signed for a secondhand 34 di. the money was a factor and after extensive testing i could not justifying the extra cost of the 52 over the 34. hope the 34 will leave me as happy as you seem to be with your 52.

Jarle I beleive that the 34's sheet orentation is portrait, the QM-46 DI that we had was also, one of the big issues was ghosting, I ended up tilting the images on the press form 3 degree's to elimate it, with that being said I also had a jig made up at 3 degree's for the cutter to square up the form. Beleive me the cutter op. hated it

yes the 34 is portrait orientation. i hope we wont experience these issues, but time will tell : ) i had done quite a bit of testing before i bought the machine (which will be delivered next week) and the only job in which i experienced any ghosting was on a heavy coverage all blue (100% cyan + 80% magenta) with a small very light image right dead in the middle : ) i didnt expect this to work as good as it actually did, but yes that gave us some ghosting. apart from that no ghosting during testing. thanks for the feedback and if i do encounter some ghosting i will be sure to try your 3 degree technique : )
