Does the toning have a wedge shape to it? (Wider on the edge and tapering off toward the O.S.)

Yes wedge shaped about 2"-3" long, tappering to the op side.

See if the main air pressure has dropped. If not give it a nudge. We had this problem on both of our LS640s but resolved it by increasing the ram pressure at the water form roller. Also running a smaller stripe to the plate. Make sure that your water form isn't to hard and swollen at the ends though. The needle valves are under the covers on both sides of the press.

thank you. Driver side water form piston. Active (on)/ air flows in and pushes piston out via yellow bottom hose. Inactive (off) air flows through top red hose forcing piston to retract. In the active position, needle on red hose too closed retaining air in piston preventing form roller from making thorough contact with plate despite appropriate stripe setting. Opened needle valve on red hose 4 half turns. Problem solved.
