Has anyone had problems with an AB Dick envelope feeder not sucking the envelope down to the conveyer belts. It will when i feed it with the manual button then it will hesitate until the vacumm builds up again. After a series of envelopes ran through then it will work. Have cleaned the pump, veins and the 4 square metal plates inside the pump and still its doing the same. thanks kb

There is many thing that can cause that. The curl of the envelopes. Ripped sucker feet. dirty sensor, back stop too tight. I have run Millions of envelopes never had an issue with the pump.

Its prolly the suckers worn out but the sensor gets paper dust on it and then misfeeds like crazy i have the same issues every 50,000 env or so

Take a look at the vacuum release seal, it's under the vacuum manifold. When the seal is old it falls apart and misfeeds. I drilled a hole for a screw and put two windmill suckers there. Or you can buy the proper part for about $250 for a gasket and lever. Check it out.

Ive replaced the suckers several times thinking that might be it. Cleaned the sensor area many times. Mind boggeling. When i run the manual button several times approx. 30 envelopes or so, it will take off and never miss an envelope until it sits for a couple of hours or overnight. Will check the release seal today and see what that lookes like. The tech thinks its the motor not getting up to speed until it warms up. But have had that completely apart back together and it runs smoothe and has plenty of suckson. So don't really think thats it. thanks kb.
