I am looking at buying a 2003 NL528 that has AMR and was wondering if someone could provide some specifics on what it does and how it works.

AMR stands for automatic/automated make ready. Depending on how the press was originally ordered, you may be able to automatically adjust the feeder head, side guide, paper thickness, delivery slowdown position, delivery side joggers, etc.

You enter the paper size and thickness on the console and push a button. It will store a number of paper sizes and thickness in memory that can be called back. The paper thickness automation seems to save the most time. Each unit can be fine tuned from the console as well.

Under AMR you will find the following proccesses:

Auto sheet size & thickness set up
Brush & wheel assembly on feeder board and delivery joggers go to size
pressure is set up on units

    Plate changing (full/semi)
washup's - any you have on press
KHS / KHS-AI job setup and on brand new Komories also Air pre-set (not on a 2003)

    Enjoy

I have never seen a AMR equipped Komori without automatic washup, but automatic plate changing is a separate option called APC.
