i think your problem is abit of dried ink on the lens above diode "9".

Clean the lens with alcohol, then water and try to reimage.

(Try dabbing the lens clean, rubbing may result in scratching if there is something between the glass and your cloth)

If it is something on the lens it would effect the whole zone of the diode.

Yes, it could be LMD (Black Box) problem with the only one channel from all eight. Just interchange it with another one BB and you will see if your problem has moved or stayed.

As Jan stated it is possible you have a Laser Drive Module working intermittently. Sometimes when they start to go bad it only affects 1 diode. If room temperatures are over 23 Celsius it can cause the issue.

As for your other issue, it could be from the plate take up spool overruning clutch starting to wear. There is a one way bearing responsible for the take up clutch spool. If the bearing starts to slip the plate material will move very slightly causing the front to back issue you are having. You notice it worse after the press has been setting for a few days because it has more time to move.

My recommendation is to have a technician come out and replace this item as it is moderately difficult if you have never done it before.
