We have just installed a Canon C1+ as an upgrade to or short run colour
services, Upgrade from Kyocera 2030's. Any ideas on interesting ways to use clear toner, or is this feature just a none event!
What I have done so far, is so subtle that no one would pay the extra 11 cents a click to use it. Does anyone know how to do the metallic effects some of the Canon press releases speak of?
Any help/Ideas you could offer would be great as our canon rep. has no idea how to operate the machine, First install in our area!
So I am on my own as how to make more profit from this new machine.
Much higher click rate than the old 2030's, Nicer prints, Slow!!!!

    Paul.

    Hi Paul,

The metallic effect is create if you have a light vinyl color and you apply a spot clear coating on to it.
The clear coated area will create a metallic effect.
The clear coating effect strongly rely on the media type, tried on different media.
For glossy media, you can tried to create a invert clear coating.

The clear coating can apply as water mark on an event pass or certificate.....
Let me know if you have new idea.
I agreed with you that the speed is slighty slow but the consistency in the color and offset finishing is worth it.

    Hi all,

You can find a guide to printing with clear toner here. Click agree and it will download a .ZIP file with a guide and files needed for the tutorial.

Also, you can try the Clear Image Editor, which can be found here. Click on the "Product" tab and you will be able to download it. The Clear Image Editor allows for a PDF workflow and on-screen, 3D viewing of a clear toner design. Be sure to download the manual as well as you will need it to correctly install and set up your software.

    Best regards,
    E

@EMalme, I read your given guide and I could say that it truly is a big help. I suggest everyone to read it as well.
