high water settings

    hi all
    am operating a komori ls 40 5years old
    why is my water running so high on the 1st unit(black) H 38-43 and ratio 171
    all other units are fine starting at L 13-19 and ratio 135 have checked and changed dampers but no joy has anyone else experienced this problem

    check the dampening rollers .Shore hardness should be ap 25..

    What stock do you mainly print? This can affect damp on unit 1.
    If you put unit 1 on a low speed e.g. by changing L on LMH to say 5 and do the same on unit 2 are the pan rollers turning at the same speed.
    Are the metering rollers set equally to the pan rollers, e.g. just clear heavy water then tighten by another 5 clicks.
    Is unit 1 set to reduced speed to scrub hickies from the plate.
    In the end if everything checks out ok the display is just numbers and you run the water you need for a particular job.
