We are in the process of opening a digital print shop and have been researching laminators. Unfortunately ive got an aneurysm trying to compare pouch vs cold vs hot roll laminators. we do have a wide format printer but until we see a huge demand in wide format laminations, we are hesitant about spending a huge chunk of cash on the fancier machines.
any advice on the optimum choice that will encompass most commonly indemand products?

I have a suggestion on a laminator, we use this in our current production. The Ledco Digital 44 laminator does both hot and cold laminating and comparitively speaking it was pretty affordable. We love it!

A pouch laminator is an option for small formatpints and very easy to operate for quick print services. There are a large selection of laminating pouches to choose from also. However if your laminating wide format images a roll laminator is th only real option.

What are those digital printing services you are planning to gave in your shop? In general cold laminating is always best, so better if you buy cold laminator. Cold laminators are safe, fast, and easy-to-use. There are no hot rollers to cause burns. Most desktop models utilize easy-to-understand manual operation so they can be used by anyone with no specialized training required. Cold laminators also do not require a warm-up time. They are ready to be used anytime you need something laminated. Just put the material to be laminated into the machine and turn the crank.

If you have a wide format printer and your volume is high, I would suggest looking at what Autobond has to offer. We have two and these are the BEST laminators out there.
