I am working with an import/export to make a catalog. How does everyone else handle this?

I was planning on having him create a report in Quicktime, export it to CVS, and data merge it into a pre-made InDesign layout. The image part is a bit trickier, either I have him label all his pictures and send me the files or I use Quickbooks POS or a plug-in to add images to inventory items.

Is this how everyone else handles it? How would you recommend handling the picture? I don't want to reinvent the wheel here!

    Thanks!

    Zach,

Did you get an answer to your problem?

If not I may have an answer. I use InDesign and am Expert at Photoshop and workflow. I do several catalogs a year and have for over 20 years.

I think having your own way to print catalogs is the better part.. you can see that without following some specific instruction you were able to manage to transfer and layout files.. :)

Did you get your problem worked out, Zach? As far as the images I would have him label all of them and then send you the files. There’s no real need for having to do everything in Quickbooks or use a plug-in.
