Besides the oscillating form rollers what else could cause tinting/plate wear on an LS40?
Can the differential drive of the dampening system become a problem as gears wear?We
    are packed within Komori specs.

Is it tinting on 1 unit only? Blankets can cause tinting. Bad bearing in a form roller??

Not confined to a particular unit. We've been using a David M QL Blue blanket for sometime now. Using Bottcher rollers for ever. What are the hot ones out there for LS presses?

We do have units that are toning more consistently than others.

Do you any have units that are not toning at all? Does the toning start as soon as you start a new job or does it start after running x number of copies?

All units will, some more than others. Starts when well into a job 20000+.

The circulator set points are at 60 and is maintained at that temp. Whats the norm out there?

I have had a similar problem on my L628 NL since I got this machine 2 and a half years ago. I changed my circulator temp from 60 to 50 and had a significant improvement , but did not cure it. Is it tinting over the entire plate or just outside of the image area?

It tends to start at the sides then works in. At one time it would get into the grain of the plate and require new ones to be made on long runs. Switched metal and now is much improved. On inspection of old metal after runs it would resemble picture framing. I will look into the temps. Thanks.

Some operators seem to have more of it than others. The ones that are pro active witth keeping things clean like dampeners, backcylinders and such have less problems. Currently working on some roller replacements.

Squatch Mate check the plate developer, when ever I have problem with plates toning it always ends up being either old chemicals or the ph is out in the developer bath.
    cheers

Thanks. I've been checking on that and the prep dept. tells me everything is as it should be. May look into it more though. Kind of get the evil eye when ever the pressroom is nosing around the plate room....
