    Hi,

I am a graphic designer and I am in the process of setting up a new wedding invitation card business. I have an idea of the requirements I need from a printer but I cannot seem to find the right printer anywhere. Ideally I want something that is cost effective, and I am looking for a printer with the best price, as I want to start off small and build my way up.

The printer must print onto 11x7" (a3) sized stock, and be able to print onto 300gsm (which I believe is 170 lb. index) - I am not too concerned about other features as these two are an absolute must!

Any suggestions for printers would be very much appreciated, and if anyone has any past experiences with printing wedding invites, then I would love to hear about it.

    Thanks

We are doing tons of invites on a Konica Minolta Biz Hub 5501. For the thickness of the stock you want to run I dont think you are going to be able to use a "lower end" printer. Not sure what kind of investment you want to make. Maybe check out a lease deal and pay per click. You also need to think about how you are going to print the envelopes.

Thanks for your reply. I am now looking into buying a laser printer for smaller stock thicknesses, and looking at a printing company who can print onto the heavy stuff.

Hi dilse, if you are interested in letterpress printing you will find the right printer at www.weloveletterpress.com/interview . Most of them do wedding invitations, but also all kinds of other custom work. Cheers, Ben.
