my mouse got broken and now that i replaced it the cursor doesnt appear

    the original mouse got broken and now that i replaced it for a PSII (non optical) mouse the cursor doesnt appear on the screen, at the first on the starting window (when you turn the machine on) say something about a mouse error but i cant understand german. what do you recommend me to try?

    It has been a long time for me on this problem, but I believe you have to have a serial mouse in order for it to work instead of a parallel mouse or vice versa. I do remember the mice that work on typical PC's would not work on the DI.

    My original mouse got damaged, so tried to plug in an old serial mouse from an old computer.. working alright.

    it still being a problem the mouse work on pc correctly and the original mouse couldnt be fixed so i dunno what to do i think is about compatibility, because the mouse support win98/SE and maybe is driver problems but i have no idea how to add driver to DI pc

    Easiest is to match what was there before. Buy a serial mouse or get a ps2 to serial converter. Logitec used to give the converters away with several of their ps2 mice - you can get them on ebay for $3. Or probably easier just to get a serial mouse.
