I am having a problem with ink transferring onto the lead edge of the sheet from the blanket on one unit only. The ink that is building up on the blanket outside the sheet contact area is the culprit but I can't seem to eliminate that. Both units are set identically. KOMPAC damps on both with
new forms, new ink forms in both units, PRISCO 142-126 ETCH and 3% alcohol,
PH 4.5. MEGAPRO Plates, Anyone have any ideas or similar issues?

If you look at the leading edge of the plate, does it have any ink buildup also? I have found that sometimes if the plates are a little too long the ends sort of stick up a bit and collect excess ink. This can get transferred to the blanket. Also, check to make sure the blanket is totally tight and not stretched.

Thank-you graficworx for your suggestion. I could only hope the solution would be that simple. I'm still playing process of elimination and I'm saving my hand grenade for last!

Your plate maker may not be making plates at the same length.
If you have to make them larger and trim them on the tail end, do that.
Make sure your plates are consistant in length, your gaps for plate to blanket are set correctly and your Kompak dampeners are set to your thickness of plates. What mill plate are you using?
It sounds like you may have a buckle on your lead edge and the plates aren't fitting the cylinder correctly.

Thank-you for your reply. Plates are 8mill. thick, all plates are consistent in length, no slack at all at lead or tail, tried damp stripes from 2-5mills, blanket height is correct, plate to blanket pressure is correct, back pressure is correct, only one unit does this, replicating the good unit does not work, BIN LADEN is dead, still no difference!

I get this with Agfa/Dotworks but no problems with Mitsubishi, it measures the same thickness but is no where near as rigid, my press is a pm46.
