Is there a website that lists the typical options available and ballpark costs for common book cloths for hardcover casebound books?

Best is to get sample swatches from the press/bindery quoting your project.

The LBS website might be useful to you as a reference:
    http://www.lbsbind.com/book_cloth_cover_materials/arrestox_b-cloth.php
which has small sample photos of their selection of:
    • Arrestox B-cloth
    • Pearl Linen B
    • Kennett
    • C-1 Cloth
    • Linen Buckram
    • Buckram
    • Verona
    • Cot-linen
    • Manhattan
    • Luminaire

Also following this topic with interest as I'm getting a hardbound book quoted right now with Arrestox B-cloth which should be fine but I'm waiting for the physical sample swatches to arrive any day so I can see the actual feel and what the next step in either direction is ($ vs. how supple and luxurious the feel is.)

Winlxb - I see machines on the kylin website but not cloth options.

I was primarily interested in domestic cloth hardcover options, but if you wouldn't mind, could you tell me what cloth options are the most common in China book manufacturing? Are they standardized into a dozen or so common hardcover cloth material options used for hardcover books, or is there a lot more more variance in the cloth material commonly used?

Yes, in China, they standardized the common hard cover cloth material options.
do you use the paper material for book cover?

So what are the common hard cover cloth material options in china? Are they the same options as in the US, or are different cloths more common in Chinese hard cover binding?

So what are the most common cloth options for hardcover books in China then? Is there a small range of cloths one would ask for? Is there any chart showing "if you like this in the US, ask for this cloth option in china?" Or do you specify cloth by weight, softness, weave, or other parameters in addition to color if there are too many brands/makes commonly in use to say "I'd like xyz for this book"?
