I really wish for a GTO 52 one color press, but my finances do not reach the price range i get. I have found a Roland pratica pr00 for less and would like to know if it will be a good substitute. I currently use a gestetner 313 which we manage with but we desperately need to upgrade. Your advice will be appreciated

    Hi Euni

Have owned and operated both presses, i will pick the Roland Practica over the Heidleberg GTO any day!
Much better feeder and sidelay on the Roland. Depending on the year of the presses the Heidelberg wins when it comes to dampening system.
Be sure to get the Roland with Alcohol dampning or maybe an aftermarket crestline or Varn Kompac.

    Hi Mutti,

I intend upgrading to a two colour in the very near future and would like to know how you think the Praktica prz00 measures up against the Heidelberg SM52,any help, advice or info would much appreciated.

    Thanks Mac

    Hey Mac,

    That's a tough one...
i would say: if money was no problem i would go for the SM-52 it's a newer construction than the Prz00.

But in the real world where money is a parameter I would choose the Prz00.
The machine is a lot cheaper than the SM-52 and it’s capabilities are much like the SM-52
The Prz00 uses Rolandmatic continuous alcohol dampening pretty much bullet proof.
The feeder is from mabeg, also very good and easy to work with.

    Hi mutti,

Thanks for the reply!,money is an issue for sure and as you say and i can buy a similar aged Roland for about half the price of a sm 52.The other problem I have is that i don't have a Roland engineer locally but have a Heidelberg one close by.I have been running fuji/shinoharas for several years and have the same problem of not having a engineer locally hence the reason im thinking of moving to the Heidelberg!!!

    Thanks
    Aaron

    Hi,
I already asked this question on this forum, but I'm desperate so here it goes again.Hi,
I have Roland Practica 1-color offset machine from year 1989.
My photocells are somehow broken (they don't work) and I need to buy new ones.
The problem is, the sticker with their number is removed from the machine.
How can I find out the version of the photocells? What kind of photo cells have these kind of machines?

Tell me a differente between Gto or Roland Practica, i need urgently information. I can buy Gto 52 with Aquaprint dampening or Roland Practica Kompact III 1990 year..Roland practica can print on all sheets, 50 gr. - 400 gr. paper sheets, with any problems? If anyone knows roland have all sparts for this kind of machine?
