Ok I need some buying advice. Knowing zip diddly squat about booklet makers I reckon best place to start is here...

    Situation
our local finishing house has ceased to trade leaving us with a pricing dilemma. All the other finishers are almost 50% more expensive, so I guess the time may be right to look at a bringing saddlestitching inhouse.

We haven't the space for a Muller and to be honest I don't need or want to take in saddle stitching from other printers. We print A4/A5 and anything from medium length runs (2.5k, 5k, 10k and 80k seems to to be the maximum) as well as short runs (100). I need it to be simple to operate and reasonably productive 2,500cph + and to produce a good result.

    Question
So what would you guys suggest? Duplo / Horizon?? Anything else out there that fits the spec? Am I p¡$$ing in the wind with these brands?

    Any comments cheerfully accepted.

No, you don´t. I worked with Horizon and was satisfied with product and service.
Small machines, quick´n easy setup. optimal for a small printshop. New service center in Germany.

Is CP Bourg on the table for consideration?

Depends...I just need user feedback so we can include the front runners spec wise in our business plan.
