I am looking to upgrade our presses to 4 color
currently we do 4 color on an abdick 9810 with poly plates. Our press repairman says it seems imposible but we do get great 4 color but not consistant.

I wanted to get the Ryobi 3404 di or HEIDELBERG QMDI but the cost per image seems really high.

That is, printing one 4 color image uses $32.00 worth of the plate roll.

Our current omega poly plates are $1.40 each

Is there a better way to get my costs per run down?

We print a magazine 46 pages 2 sided on 8x14 no blead no trim. the print area is 6w x 7h but only 3,000 of each page. So its not ow many we print but how often we need a new image.

No one seems to be able to answer my question posed this way, so I am either asking it wrong or something is missing.

The only real key for us is to improve 4 color printing at a cost effective way. So I dont really need a DI if some other solution will work as well.

    Thank in advance,

why dont you invest in a ryobi 3304 ha. you can use the same plates and the turnaround time will reduce 60%.

There not telling you all the costs involved with the Ryobi 3404 di The ink is way more if you do PMS work ouch. Tempature controll is important i heard over 70 degrees lots of issues. We have a 3304ha is the way to go. you can't beat them. There giving used ones away for dirt cheap. Plate Loaders are a must!!!
