I suggest you to use Infrared drying online, we use one from Advance Curing System.

a lot of people don`t know this, but roller settings and roller condition, form and idler rollers will change the inks ability to dry. i had this problem. i did everything i could, different ink, dryer, lots of powder, alcohol in water, ( and in me) nothing worked. i put in new rollers and it was dry in a few hours with the same inks and fountain. even with acryllic ink it is dry enough to cut at 4 hours off press. a good roller practice is this: friday after wash up run some shortening into the rollers, ( crisco you get at grocery store) let it roll aroung as long as you can. when you come in monday wash it out and check your roller settings. when you wash use hot water and vinegar with press wash. this will take all the calcium and paper and fountain sol. chemicals out of your rollers. the crisco will put natural oil back in to them that gets washed away when you wash up the press. this will not fix damage already done, but will keep them running better longer.

Are you running Aqueous coating and IR drying on your CD ?. If you are only running IR, ramp everything up to 100%, manually turn the switches on the IR slides up to 100 %. We run heaps of uncoated stocks without aqueous on but IR on 100%; backing up within 20 minutes if that.

Crazy!...I mean that in a good way!...hummm... a roller conditioner that keeps them soft and new!....I have plenty of cleaners that sand the crap out of them to get any hardend ink off!...but no Re-softening or conditioning coatings!...This is all new to me!...is this something someone else has done?...or do they use a different method???

Hostmann has a series called Maxima that is a higher density, better water resistance and a higher pigment load. Ask you vendor about it...

Sounds like an incorrect ink/water balance to me. Jobs off a press like that should be able to be guillotined after a couple of hours.

One other thing to consider is possible alkaline paper. This is usually not a problem these days but have run into it occasionally.

alkaline papers are the most sold paper now a days any paper thats light weight is usually alkaline now. I use my litmuns pen whenever i get a new stock in and just about everything thats 70# text and under is alkaline. And alkaline papers put alot of calcium carbonate (CaCO3) into your water system which only causes problems from ink drying time to major toning

You are right on target with the toyo inks. I felt that the ink make up must have been changed. I am having issues I haven't had before. I know your post was a while ago but I can see the same thing. how do you begin to understand how you printed something in the past just does not at all run the same now. Thanks, now I know it's just not me.
I am going to question Presstek about this, which is my supplier for toyo inks..
