Ink consumption calculation

is there any formula to calculte the amount of ink to be consumed in a particular job?
Specially for spot colors.

Yeah theres a couple of ways to calculate ink usage , you should be able to get from your ink supplier , its just simple math......like area of coverage x number of sheets etc....I cant remember exactly

This ink vendor has a calculater on their website.... www.hostmann-steinberg.net It is free to use just register and logon.

 

the calculator on the website is not working.

 

on number of impressions enter 10 for a 10,000 quantity, 25 for a qty. of 25,000. Do not use your actual quantity of 25,000 or whatever you amount is. See if that works for you. I just tested the site and it was working.

(sq in coverage for each color x impressions x waste / usage factor)
Usage factor:
(Conventional Ink)
800,000 for Coated Paper
650,000 for SBS
800,000 for Plastic
(U.V. Ink) -
500,000 SBS
600,000 Coated Paper
650,000 Plastic

 

Hi Dear,
Can you please explain the formula.
Suppose I have to print 1000 books.
There are 20 pages of 4 (CYMK) color, 30 pages of 2 (CY) color in each book.
Is the number of Impressions to use in the formula :
Total number of impression for each single color to print 1000 books having 50 pages in each.
And at last what is waste......is it wastage of ink in percentage say 10%, 20% or any thing else.........
