Is your vacuum brush turned on, that can cause ripping, also too much air at the impression nip can cause turbulence and again cause ripping.

This will solve your problem: Part number F2.022.702N

Use only with paper weight up to 100# text, Install at the cut out on the guard before the infeed.
Slide the smoother to the desired position, be careful not to install below the stop finger.
Raise separator roll when installing, Remove when not needed to avoid sharp edges.
Inspect weekly for wear of the spring rolls and sharp edges, replace as necessary.

Use at least 4 of these sometimes 6. If you only put 2 on it probably wont make too much difference. Try not to place under the rollers on the front gate if you have to, then raise the roller involved with the little lever.

Yes, I have definitly seen this issue as well. Definitly try to turn off your sheet cleaner if you have one. If that doesnt solve the issue than use the sheet smoothers. Proper placement is very important here. The smoothers should be placed between the 5th and 6th roller and the 12th and 13th roller. These smoothers should be used only when needed and when running thicker stock remove them. They will wear out and as they wear they will become super sharp. Ive only seen once where more than two smoothers were needed and heard of an instance where as many as 6 were needed.
