I'm running an (99/00) SM74 4/C with a coater. And I need to run a pocket folder with pms 871 on black paper. Is there a way to turn off the feeder eyes? And will it then go into impression? As far as the press is concered right now, is does not see the black paper. It stops feeding and never goes into impression. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't believe there is a way to turn off the infeed sensor eyes because of what they do.

    Regards.

This I don´t understand. I´ve been printing anything you can imagine on a SM 102 ( exept envelopes ). Are the sensors not capacitive type that indicates mass not the colour of the substrate. I have tinted paper black all over from both edges on both sides without problem. otherwise you can do what we used to do in the seventies with the photocell sensor when printing overhead plastics, we taped paper over the photocell and then engaged the impression manually.
I realize it´s an old thread but maybe it still can help somebody.
