  1. 52CM DI presses

DI (I believe) stands for Digital Imaging, the plates are burned directly on the plate cylinder, eliminating the need for plate makers processors and mounting issues also the registration is almost 100% for every set of plates. DI has nothing to do with the size of the press.
  2. all test done but not solved

Do you have an IR dryer at the delivery end? could be the problem, also after washing the blankets to you allow enough time for them to dry out before running? I've had toning problems on my 4th units for years and these have been the problem. I have since turned down my IR temp from 7.5 to 5...
  3. Uncoated Papers drying problems

You wouldn't by chance be using Toyo Inks would you? It has become a clear known fact that they have been screwing with the ink formulas without letting anyone know. We too have had a rash of drying issues on our 34DI using the Aqueless inks. Several months ago I could stack up to 800-1000...
  4. Scratches and Hickies on the plates. please help. Heidelberg Di Quickmaster

I may be talking Apples and Oranges here but I had a huge scratch problem on my Presstek 5334 DI and, after much hunting and testing found out that the rubber "bladder" on the wet towel plate cleaning unit on tower 1 was swollen to a point that it would make contact with the plate as it was...
  5. Screen Truepress 344 vs. Ryobi 3404DI

Curious to know where you heard that from. Considering Dainippon doesn't actually manufacture printing presses, just the technology that goes into them, I wouldn't be surprised if they needed an anonymous contractor to supply the base equipment, such as Hamada. Same Situation with Presstek, they...
  6. DI vs OFF SET

EWADP remember the 5334 is only capable of 7,000 sph, and Presstek only recommends using the plates for no more than 20,000 impressions, though we have never gone more than 18,000.
  7. Presstek 52DI and 34DI presses

The 750 number was what my owner (boss) threw at me the day he interviewed me. So I'm not surprised if I was off. But I do know our plate material comes 4 rolls per box, 28 images per roll, and our price for the material is $1,400 USD per box (the invoice I was looking at was last years and I...
  8. Water-proof paper?

Look up a synthetic "paper" called Yupo. I printed a field manual for the New York State Troopers who needed a water proof, stain proof book. It's a ***** to print on because of the static, but it comes in a variety of weights, and reproduces color like a coated gloss text stock. Here's their...
  9. Presstek 52DI and 34DI presses

quitamar, what is it specifically you are looking to print? Is a copy machine better suited for your needs, or a high quality ink-jet copier like an iGen, or do you really require an offset press? what is it you have a market for?, what is the quantity your looking at?, most important, what...
  10. Why did Heidelberg discontinue DI presses?

Here's the original link to the story: http://www.printweek.com/news/545464/Heidelberg-consigns-DI-press-ranges-history/ seems like everybody is sleeping in everybody else's bed:eek:
  11. DI vs OFF SET

That size run sounds better off on a conventional 40" press that can handle a 16 ppg imposition. I run a Presstek 34DI and to run that quantity alone, I agree with the others you'd be married to the press 24/7 (if all goes smooth). We ran a 64 ppg 4/4 20,000qty on 80# gloss text and with...
  12. 52CM DI presses

Might want to check out the 74Karat http://www.kba-print.de/en/produkte2/digitaldruck3/74karat.html (note the bottom paragraph, it uses the Presstek plates) I run a 34DI but have heard that there was recently over 300 orders for the 52DI at the last Print Show in Chicago to be delivered in...
  13. Presstek 52DI and 34DI presses

I'm running a Presstek 5334 DI (12" x 18" basic size paper) and have been told they run around $750,000 USD new. Don't forget to consider consumables also, plate material = $1,000 for 4 rolls 28 plates per roll, ink, wash, etc., etc. Our machine is approaching 9,000,000 impressions and we...
