dont need distiller if you export as a pdf and open in Acrobat pro and print a booklet.

used to get that with my 6501 and I always exported to pdf and printed the pdf out of acrobat.

You are looking at quite a wide range of prices and performance with your list. Things to consider - like the J press, waiting for the front to dry before you can print the back but wow the color is awesome. The Indigo is great, but you really need to have a constant stream of work to keep it...

Super Web has parts and service and units for sale. Best little press around, they always just work.

Everything single breaker and line - easier and safer when equipment has to be tagged and locked for repair. Cost a little more to set up but you will be glad you did. We have seperate boxes for each press room segemnet. We are running 13 Diddie Webs plus bindery.

did you try to put a coating on the uncoated side to provide more pop for the ink?

Xikon makes a digital solution but it not priced for a guy who prints 1000 labes a week. Also, you will need die cutting for the labels also. There are many suppliers out there of label products, bid it out to them.

How many Labels do you paln to run a year? The 5501/6501 mentioned is a option but will require 230V power. If you are talking about running 500-1000 a month then a Oki would be fine and can be had for your budget. If you get a used printer, put it under a service agreemnet for the first year...

Do yourself a favor and let the local printer you are working with handle this. To spend less than $2000 for a "solution" will be tough. You will waste more than you think to get the text positioned correctly to run 1 or 2 sheets of labels if you don't know what you are doing. Just my opinion.
