  1. What Do You Do With Your Excess Imaging Oil?

If you arrange/pay for shipping we certainly could.
  2. What Do You Do With Your Excess Imaging Oil?

For those of you with a HP Indigo with an Imaging Oil Recycling System on it, what do you do with the excess oil it produces? I am in Canada. I saw HP has a free imaging- oil take back program in the UK, wish this was in Canada as well - sucks to have to pay money to get it disposed of. Are...
  3. Job Destination not Ready error

Were you able to print without the stacker up before? That would be my first tip, as already suggested.
  4. Private Heidelberg Techs for SM 74 - Toronto, Ontario Area

Thanks for the suggestions guys. We had a independent tech come in, he agrees with Heidelberg that the issue is cylinder bearings - however is confident he can get it repair for us for a much more reasonable rate, so we'll see how that goes.
  5. Private Heidelberg Techs for SM 74 - Toronto, Ontario Area

The scumming can work its way all the way across the sheet (usually in about 0.5" chatter marks), but it manifests the most/first on the gear side. I'm fairly new to this plant, but apparently the pressmen (who are highly skilled/knowledgeable) have been fighting this for about 2 years. It's...
  6. Private Heidelberg Techs for SM 74 - Toronto, Ontario Area

Thanks for the suggestion Junker. And yes, same side of the press on all units/presses.
  7. Private Heidelberg Techs for SM 74 - Toronto, Ontario Area

Do any of you know of a reputable repair company that works on Heidelberg Speedmaster 74's in Ontario? We're about 1 hour from Toronto. We have a 5 colour and a 4 colour, both of which have an intermittent scumming problem along the one side of the sheet. Heidelberg is saying it's the blanket...
  8. Where to buy paper counter/tabbing machine for end of offset press

Does anyone have a tabbing counter up for sale you can park at the end of a SM 74 for flagging every 25 sheets etc? Or, can anyone point me where to buy a new one or have any brand recommendations? I'm in Ontario, Canada. Thanks
  9. Black Plate Breaking Down Quickly Running Uncoated Stock

On my Heidelberg QMDI, after around 5000 sheets of uncoated stock (20# Bond in this case) my black plate is printing lots of wee little dots all over the page. This is normal for me. Is this just paper dust wearing down the plate? Is this normal? Is there anything I can do about it? Gloss runs...
  10. How to Set Up/Run Spot Colors On QMDI with Prinect MetaDimension Printmanager Rip

Thanks. I did get it figured out. In the RIP I was able to change the Pantone values to a CMYK unit and that worked.
  11. How to Set Up/Run Spot Colors On QMDI with Prinect MetaDimension Printmanager Rip

We have a 3 colour job we'd like to run with 3 spot colours on our QMDI. Can anyone walk me through the process of setting up the file? The PDF is created with the spot colours (black and 2 pantone colours), and I can view them in the rip. However, when I send the file to the press the only...
  12. How to Generate Calibrate File for X-Rite DTP-32 From MetaDimension

I'd like to try calibrating our Heidelberg QMDI. Our rip is the MetaDimenstion 7.5.1. We have an X-Rite DTP-32 densitometer that I'd like to use to calibrate it. The software is supposed to sync with this densitometer. What it seems like I'd need to do is print a sheet of test strips on the DI...
  13. Oh No! Ran out of Grease in Central Lubrication

That's alright. Puralator was here quick this morning so I'm back in business. Lesson learned. Keep grease in stock.
  14. Oh No! Ran out of Grease in Central Lubrication

Facepalm. My lube error message popped up on my QMDI Plus. If memory serves, you can't burn plates with this problem. Is there a way I can safely trick the machine so that I can carry on until my grease comes tomorrow? Is there a substitute grease I could get at a hardware store. I've got a...
  15. Quick Colour Adjustments Without A Spectrometer

That is the setting that is in the RIP (telling it what came from the printed sheet), although I'm not sure if it ever came from a printed sheet (like it should have), and if it did it was a long time ago.
