Because your switch that lifts the guards is all the way to the left which is auto mode. It’s a convenience thing, so by the time you take out the old plate, stand up then walk to the next unit (that has the switch in that position)…the first part of the plate change process has already begun...

Re-read my previous post. To activate unit 4…go up to the unit and raise the inking guard with the switch and leave it in that position. Then press APC there at the unit and press ready, then APC again. This starts the process there.

I’m troubled as to what the problem is because what you are reporting is exactly what the plate changer should do. Is it that you don’t know how to change the last unit plate.
