You are correct , there is no sensor on the wash up trays , many times my colleague would leave the trays off and the press would still go through the wash up cycle , what a mess , solvent everywhere !!! The press doesn't know if the trays are on or off

It used to move forward and backward when I rolled it with the crank , now it doesn't and the spring gap looks good .

Is that spring the only thing that applies pressure to the plate cylinder bearers ???

Had the same problem and found the ejector bar did not have enough pressure to ride on the bearers to complete the ejector from lining up with the opening Shute .
