Hello, my name is Liviu Georgescu and I am new here. I want to thank you in advance for your time and for shareing your expertise! Long story short, I decided to go for Albums like Graduations and other stuff, to migrate from Inkjet/Frontier to Digital press in order to save time in binding them also to get costs down hence the customers do not need photographic quality. I am watching for a second hand unit, in terms of quality I checked a Minolta 6500 and a xerox 700. The Xerox 700 was far superior in terms of color and overall rendition pictures I tested it. Now, what I am curios of, the print quality on let's say 7835/45 series would be as good as a xerox 700? On paper it seems the same. The reason why I want a smaller device is the fact that it would print arround 10 000 impressions over 1 year period and I am more interested in quality of the print than on speed. I also need tot ake into consideration a unit that is easy to service yourself hence I am in a far away city and the costs for regular maintanace would be quite high. Please, from your experience, what device would you recomend concerning my needs? I am tended t buy the 700 I tried, only thing is keeping me not to is the size and the need for a dedicated service contract. Thanks!

What is your budget? What size sheets and type of media do you need to print?

Hi, in Romania, my country, the Xerox 700 sells for 1400 eur used, price not that important, hence I do not print big numbers, if I take it in good condition I think it should last me 20000-30000 prints in 2 years. As per media requirements, a3 should be enough, though banner printing at arround 60 cm in lenght eould be a big plus. But I think we are talking big money here, so not a dealbraker. In order to get a bigger gasp on prices here, a Versant 180 with no attachements sold for 7000 eur, with under 500k impressions.
