    Hi guys,

i have a question maybe someone fought already that battle. We are a packaging printing company, in the finishing department we use Bobst Foldergluers. One of the tricy jobs is when we apply sticker labels to boxes during the folding-gluing process (inline). It works all fine but we cant reach higher machine speed as 15m/min, otherwise we start to have an issue with the register of sticker to the box. The register gets lost always in box drive direction when speed higher than 15m/min. The stickers should be always at exactly assigned place on the box, but with higer speed this is not the case anymore but they start to "travel" in direction back/forwards. We use a sticker label system from www.epackagingsrl.com
Labels can be applyed only from the side to the box. Has somebody some other systems that works faster? Comparing to foldergluer average speed from 300m-350m/min is the speed at 15m/min with sticker label application just waste of time.

what does the manufacturer of the labeling unit answer you?
there is an assumption, either there is a problem with signal transmission to the label module, or the module is not structurally in time.
Have you ever glued faster than 15m/m?

We could never run faster than 15m/min. For the other two suggetions I have to think a bit how to check that in practise... If i can manage to check that during the production than I gonna give feedback here.

    I have an idea.
if you take a stroboscope, connect it to a pulse sensor on the label assembly, you can try to "set up the ignition" to see a clear picture at the place of gluing. perhaps you have a video studio with a high-speed camera to capture process disruption at speed. it is important to understand where in the cycle the problem is, to manifest it)))

If there are two separate machines (folder gluer and labeller) there is not an element for synchronizing the speeds of the two main motors for the two machines.
Normally there must be a wheel with encoder that attaches to the conveyor belts to synchronize the two labeling and folding parts, in this case when the speed of the machine increases the speed of the labeller also increases
Soon I will share with you in my instgram a video of a folder gluer with pump and gun which works with the same principle (encoder fixed on the strip to transmit the speed to the gun pump)
