GTOV intermediate roller

I bought a used GTOV and all intermediate rollers are not moving left+right.What is the advantage of having them moving horizontally? thanks

 

When you work with an intermediate roller fixed the inking zone of the plate is transmitted to the dampening roller and the degreaser which causes a wetting problem.
The intermediate roller has three functions:
Select as an additional ink roller.
Select as an additional dampening roller.
Or select it as an intermediary between the wetting and inking part but it must wander to balance the water / ink on the plate

From experience In text printing you can work without the intermediate roller without any problem.
But you must adjust the moistener and ink roller correctly and print with the minimum of ink and water

I didn't quite understand your question, but I think you want to make them move.
Normally to ride an intermediate roller there is a cylindrical cam inside the roller and a small roller which makes the movement of the ride at the moment of rotation of the intermediate roller.
You can disassemble the roller and check, if you just have a damaged roller (bearing) you can change it but in case you have found wear on the cam I recommend that you buy a new roller.
