Thanks to COVID causing low enrollment I have the Spring semester off. If there are any ABDICK questions I'm available for discussions.

Was there water in the pan?
Observe and confirm that the water ducter roller is operating.

The ducter roller ducts (moves back and forth) from the pan roller to the adjacent roller. You mention disengaging. Is it ducting or not? There is a small lockout lever near the water volume knob which would stop the duct action.

I had not checked my school email in a while. I just got the thread attached to my email as I was submitting grades from spring 2020 for students I gave an incomplete due to the covid.

If your water form is disengaging while in operation , I would look at taking the water form out and lubricating with grease on both ends and especially between the form roller end and the shaft connect. You will probably notice the shaft where it contacts to the form has a sharp edge instead of being flat. This can be flattened with a file, but not necessary unless replacing the form with a new one. During operation the friction of the roller turning turns the shaft toward the OFF position. This is to be lubed once a month with normal operation. ALL FORMS AND INTERNAL CAM AND CAM FOLLOWERS IN THE CLEAR OSCILLATOR ROLLERS NEED TO BE GREASED!

ghuerth, while running my 9850, finished a short run job, cleaned up, reinked, hung my new plate, but when I pressed the start button, a letter H appeared on the screen and nothing would turn on.
I shut the main switch off and pulled the power plug waited 20 minutes pluged it back in turned the main on, the press beeped once and displayed the H again.
I shut every thing back off for an hour turned back on and everything works. Printed 4000 sheets stopped the feed and air, after loading another 4000 sheets the feed or air would not start, I shut press off then tried to start again but the H appeared again.
    Any thoughts or suggestions.
    Thank You

Sounds like you are getting an overheating problem which could affect the power supply and/or circuit boards. Take the control box cover off and place a fan directly blowing on the components. Clean any built up powder and dust from the area before applying the fan. What is the shops temperature and humidity?

Not really a press "problem" but I am in need of a fountain roller for my 9870. It is the roller with the split end on the drive side. AB-3507-B. I'd appreciate any suggestions on where to look.
