    Hi guys!

Fairly new to the iGen game, finished my apprenticeship in print and now running one of these presses. So far so good, but I was wondering if there was any knowledge here on colour fluctuation while a job is running.

I run say a 500 sheet job and every 5 or so pages the colour fluctuates a couple of percent more or less magenta in my case. Our tech says this is within specs but it's pretty crazy how much it can change. Especially on greys made of CMYK it struggles big time on. Is this normal?

So what I'm asking is if there are any tips on maintaining colour in a job, or something else I should be doing besides the usual run through color maintenance?

    Cheers guys!

Humidity and temperature can have influence on the quality. That being said, when its a repetitive pattern and on one color, then look in that specific area. Magenta charge and developer.

    Thanks Milo!
I'll investigate the Magenta charge and dev, is there a set number the charge should be set at? Sorry I'm still quite new to this machine. Also the machine is in a temperature controlled environment which should be ideal for operation. I'll report back when I can.

Not really. Check the magenta 8 wire mod for twists, magenta charge for ripples in the screen.

CMYK greys are the bane of my existence. You're never going to have consistency there. If possible re-set it as an actual grey or if not possible as little of the other colours as possible.

Problem solved! I've replaced my Y and M wire mods with 50 sheet duplex 311 dev recovery, the issue was to do with wires getting a bit out causing one side of the sheet to have a different colour to the other side. Must of been one side of the wire that was having issues. Colour consistency is now a lot better.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one!! I'm currently using pitstop to change cmyk greys to black. Annoying but a solution nonetheless. Thanks for your help guys.
