We are looking to print thick plastic cards on our indigo. We were thinking 15mil pvc with 10mil laminate. Any suggestions on this or anyone that is currently doing this?

No, 15mils is the equivalent of 0.015" or 15pt or 0.381 millimeters thick

Its possible on S2 sheet-fed Press. I did it but only with new blanket for 10-20 sheets. Better to put primer on that pvc.

I used to run thousands of 12x18 14 mil vinyl on our old 5600. GPA is a decent vendor for plastics and vinyls.

When you were running the 14 mil vinyl, were you using a laminate on the front and back?

What did you think of the Indigo? Looking at getting one for short run Plastic Cards? Can I ask why you got rid of it?

Our lease ran out. Boss wanted to move in a different direction. The indigo ran well. A bit hands on with maintenance and repairs. But ran the plastic pretty well. Learned some good tricks for difficult subs. We had white ink which was a great option.

We use Tekra 015. Our 7900 and 5600 machine will duplex this without problem. Afterwards it get a 5mil or 10mil laminate applied to both sides.

Well the 5600 we had more issues with but the 7900 has been great. It is still a newer press but has held register just fine. Just has to be in one-shot mode.

When we ran the Tekra subs were too were able to duplex the sheets. Sometimes we had to tape the gripper fingers.

    Hello,

I print arround 6 years on UltraStream 2000 ( 3000 series ) on pvc for pvc cards.
    I used 0.3 and 0.15 mm thikness coated pvc for digital ( china production - 0.17 usd / sheet A3 size )
    It works very fine.

    Regards
