    Dear Fellow Printers

I'm operating a 1978 single color hiedelberg SORM. Front lays delays releasing sheets in time for ranger drum. This delay causes sheets to be torn especially when printing card stock.
which timing should be adjusted? Front lays only or feeding timing and how?

You must remove lower cover on operator side, and inspect front lay barrier assembly. I would suggest you not make adjustments,. But look for worn parts or a failed cam follower bearing.

    Hi sir
    Good day
This job is very complicated to do, since you need tech documentation 2) Knowledge about this 3) Special tools
    for to do this job.
See if there are some loose parts or worn, or exceive Oil or grease, or lack of them.

Before checking any timing issues, have you checked that the suction is on underneath the feed board right next to the head stops, if you don't have enough suction hold down, it will tear the sheet on the gripper edge? The suction pump should be on the floor between the feeder and the machine. There are some holes on the feed board right close to the head stops which is where the suction comes through. Good luck.

    Thanks Guys
This model is not equipped with suction underneath the feed board. There is no suction pump there.
One engineer suggested that there is a bar that has to do with front lays which should be removed from the side cover and inspected

    Follow this steps:

    1) Put the machine in O position all gears with white mark must concur 2) Use paper of 100gr . 3) Turn the chain of feed D.S until the white marks in the chain of feeder ,must concur . 4) put the control of the FEEDER D.S in paper(old model) or Cero (new models) 5)Inching the machine until the edge Border of paper must be clearance 5 mms when the front lays is in the lowest point.

Good advice here. May I ask the level of experience of your pressman?
