problems with certain pantone colors

why cant my Igen replicate this stupid color?!

lol anyone else have trouble with CERTAIN colors? and if so, what tricks did you use to get around it?

 

Did you edit the pantone in the custom spot color editor to change the CMYK values ?

 

nope. never had to do that. nobody showed me. LOL Ive always just changed percentages to fit whatever is happening at the time. the problem I have, is that we have 3 cipress inkjets that do most of the work, I have to recreate samples and proofs. Their color is so off the wall....

im just now looking at this spot color editor thing. thanks. seems like it might work.

 

Do you have a pantone book that compares the pantone to CMYK? There's a whole boat load that you can't dial in no matter what you do. A lot of violets, I have trouble getting under 7 or 8 delta E.

 

there are just a couple that are a big problem.. and it isnt really that I cant hit the book... its that the printers I backup, (cipress) use wax ink. and their colors just come out deeper. no chance in matching.

deep red. blue. 302U is a big one. and a few pink colors.
