Plate bar moving but plate doesn't move

Hi everyone,
I am encountering a situation where, when I load a plate on to the first unit of my MOZP, after tightening the nuts on the tail side, when the operator tightens the screws on the gripper side of the plate, the bar moves but then the plate doesnt get fitted on to the surface of the plate cylinder.
So what we have done,
(a) Replaced the whole plate bar, with a new plate bar, but still this problem is still there.
(b) Cleaned the plate cylinder
(c) tried without the under packing of the plate
(d) removed the Bacher registration teeth from the plate bar
(e) Cleaned both quick action bar units
(f) Checked the teeth on the plate bar and there was no issue.

So currently we found out that sneaking in a another plate strip does the trick for now, but that is not a long term solution, as once the press starts running, the plate bar nuts tend to loosen abit. I hope someone could help me with this issue.

When you tighten plate screws do you swivel key, upwards or downwards? AFAIK you have to tighten screws TOWARDS the plate, meaning gripper upwards movement and tail downwards, also try to tighten allen screws on surface of plate bar. Btw how much are you tightening gripper side, i think 0.2 mm is enough

Thanks for the quick reply, I need to clarify the following,
Swivel key is ? 10 according to the image? If its the two bars, we are going to try the 4 combinations that would arise and check if that works. Up UP, Down Down, Up Down, Down Up.
Tried the tightening the allen screws. Did not help.

The method the press operators tightens the gripper nuts, so the empty noise that arises from the plate fitting on to the cylinder is heard to a minimum *by tapping on the bit of plate that sits above the bend on the cylinder aka the start of the cylinder. Hope Im clear on that one.

What are the "support for register scope" on the plate cylinder? Any one explain the use of it? as that doesn't align with the teeth found on the plate bar. Not sure the role it plays.

There is no up or down swivel key or pin wrench. The clamps have multiple bolts that need to be individually tightened. Your thinking of speed clamps.

 

this make be a bit of a late reply but you can usually inspect a plate AFTER it comes off the press to see just how tight the clamps are biting and adjust accordingly.

 

At Speedmaster 72 plate clamp closes with the bolt number 10 -gripper upwards tail downwards- if plate slips you can tighten allen screws 22 to increase the force of clamp -unless i am mistaken-

 

Though its been a while, we still haven’t found a concrete solution to this issue. Thanks a lot, will try the suggestions tomorrow, and give you the feedback. Thanks again.
