What year is your SM74? The older ones did not have special grease for the delivery. Lubricant was the press oil pumped directly to the delivery gripper chain guides. I cant remember if the newer machines use special delivery grease or not.

Once an engineer advised me to use ELKALUB LA8 on delivery chains, couldn't find it in my country. Usually we use any viscous oil on chains, I don't know its right or wrong.

But our sm 102-4-p3 we use saphira HP 1(LA 8P) PART NO 00.580.5591 for delivery chain.
    please see atachment.

OP also mentions that he has a 79 model Heidelberg, which is not an SM74 more likely a 72 and the SM 74 does not have seperate chain lubrication, it uses main press lubrication for chain lube.

Thanks Asif, I was kind of refering to his original post and his clarification of the machine farther down. In his original post he does say that he has an SM74 and later he says that its a 1979 model. If his machine was built in 1979 I know its not an SM74, maybe I misread his posts.

Exheid?? Is that really you? Do I detect a hint of humility in your post? And, your comment comes up as being posted @5:30 PM. Not midnight, or the wee hours of the morning. Surely we have an imposter within our midst!! You know I'm smiling through this, right? :). Hope you're having a good weekend! You just made mine!
