I was trying to find a right ink for my custom spot color. I saw this very saturated blue ink in one printing supply shop the other day. And the shopkeeper told me that the code for this blue was 453. Today I saw the same ink in a local printing company and the supervisor also said that the code was 453 for that ink and the ink was from Pantone matching system. However, when I tried to look up that color on my computer, I couldn't find that color on any of the Pantone color book from Adobe CS6.
I think that they probably lied to me that the code 453 was from Pantone system. I wouldn't argue that the ink code was actually 453. But I just don't believe this code was going by Pantone. It can be some type of Chinese color matching system or something else. Does anyone know of this highly saturated pure blue ink? And what kind of color matching system it is going by?

453 in Pantone is a light tan color. However if they mixed up the number and meant 534 that is a blue. I'd call it a medium shade not that saturated. But you could push it and make it much darker. The mix is 62.5 grams Pantone Green and 37.5 grams Rubine Red. 354 as we all know is green. 543 is a very light blue.

Thanks for the reply. I asked about that matter from the supervisor of the print shop again. He said that he bought the ink from a local shop that sells Chinese products. Chinese paints usually have numbers beside the color name. And those numbers can be only reference for that actual brand. So they probably confused the number that is only applicable within the brand. It probably wasn't any Pantone color at all.
