Refilling my Ink Cartridges

Hi, I have a lot of refillable ink from my old printer, and I'm wondering if it's compatible with another printer. My old one is an Epson Stylus Photo 925 and my new one is a Canon Pixma IP4500. What would happen if I refilled my Canon cartridges with the Epson ink? If they are not compatible, then is there any risk of damaging the print head?

I have no experience with the canon pixma IP4500 but I would be extremely, extremely surprised if this worked. Even if by some miracle it didn't clog, print very poorly due to different size/type nozzles, or bleed/leak out, I think the pigmentation and properties of the inks would be sufficiently different that your stock print profile wouldn't deliver very good results. I would only try this if you can afford to make the printer into an anchor because cleaning it up could be a real mess if it does bleed or clog. Unless you're in a location where you can't ship, selling the old ink on ebay or similar and buying new for the specific printer would be the way to go. I've had mixed results (some poor, some perfect) with generics, but at least they try to hit the specific print head's needs.

 

Epson and canon inks are completely different in their form and i wouldnt do it, trying to save a few quid could / would end up costing alot more.

 

Epson and Canon have completly differnt print head technology
the Epson uses Piezo and Canon uses Bubblejet

i refill my canon with canon compatibles and im sure if you use good quality epson compatibles it would be ok. But they will never be as good as oem ink and if that quality is ok with you then its fine. like i said i refill my canon, but as i do large format work on it banners and canvases and such, its fine for me.

 

Refilling CISS

How to refill CISS tanks? Where can extra ink for CISS be bought? Can somebody suggest a good vendor?

 

well i thought id try something after reading on here.
i refilled my canon with epson ink, deposits are larger and the colours are slightly + off. but it is possible. now back to the proper ink.

 

ink issues

I'm using compatible ink from *************, seems to work ok so far. It takes ages before I refill and I don't touch the cartridges at all. It works with my Epson, but also, easily with Canon, HP & Brother models.

 

Have you done any fade, bleed, or smudge tests vs. the oem inks?

I bought my printer in Prague, where I had my ICC profile set, so now printing quality is better than with original cartridges. I work with Photoshop & print my images without worrying about how much ink I wasted. It looks great. I’ve heard that with a standard ICC profile the difference in quality between CISS & original ink is about 2-5%, but it’s only noticeable when you’re printing using large formats, A3 & bigger

Ink Cartridges

Don't do it. It will clogg. Those printer are different, ink needs to be
different. Why don't you use a compatible or generic cartridge like this

Hi,i'm having some problems refilling a HP F380 Deskjet's black cartridge,I've filled it up with 30ml of black ink,cleaned it and the printer's slot with the solvent that I got with the refill kit but it still won't work,the ink check shows it dry empty. Can I fix this somehow ? Thanks a lot!

Friends,the epson ink didn't compative the conon printer,if you fill epson ink to comon printer,can damage you new printer print head.

The whole topic is irritating... Here is few another brainless ideas: fill up diesel in gasoline car or wise verse, why not - they both liquids. DONT! Copier toner is just a black powder and any powder can be filled in any printer Hmm- NOT!. Has anyone tried to use household paint in the offset press? why not, it is colored and about same consistency... Unless you are less than 10 years old, tinkering with things just out of curiosity - DON'T mix and match. Canon ink is for canon printers and you may find it hard to believe, canon ink for certain model is for those models, not necessarily suitable for entire models line up. Epson ink is for epson printers. If you already exploring this idea, trust me - chemist who formulated the inks and engineers who made the printers are a lot smarter than you are and there is some serious time, money and effort spent to make sure that ink is formulated for that certain printer. Yeah sometimes a person can get away with molesting a piece of technology but this is wrong. In any country you are, if there is canon ink, there must be a epson ink - get the right one.

 

Hello,friends.though the ink have been refilled to the cartridges,but the cartridge chips volume be exhausted.so the chips need reset by chip resetter.
