what kind of paper is used for In mold labels offset printing? I read it's biaxal oriented polypropylene paper, do you know any brands or suppliers? Thank you ..
Our company uses only conventional high pigment inks that include a minimum binding agent. This keeps the thickness of the ink layer to a minimum, thus preventing the distortion of the label. The water and acrylic layers we use are odourless and therefore suitable for the food industry packaging. The printing techniques we are using is ideal for in-mould labels for PP because the labels are very easily charged electronically and are placed into the mould without any wastage.
Does anybody know where I can gather more info about this in-mold labeling? I'm more interested about the process of printing the label rather than the whole molding!

We are planning for an offset press and are looking at way to print IML. Can we print IML using conventional inks.. Which machine is advisable ? What Kind of drying (IR enough) is advisable ? Which brand of inks might be good in this case of conventional inks and press ?
The UV is not drying in our varnish machine. we are using cd102 for printing and AWT world machine for screen printing. we have changed the following uv lamps, ir lamps , ink, uv varnish. still it takes 8 days for ink to dry.
I would advise against doing IML printing on an offset press running IR drying. UV would be much less risky, require less spoilage, easier on the press crews, and have no requirement for anti offset powder, which winds up leaving a sandpaper feel to the printed jobs running at the levels required to print without setoff.
