I have a new ( Two Months Old) Igen 4 110 and Every since we got it it will freak out every now and again and spit yellow toner as well as make the entire sheet have a yellow cast to it. So what was a nice white sheet is now Yellow over cast. My Tech changed the developer once and told me to run Developer Recover Sheets when this happens but that is not a permanent solution.

Anybody ever face this issue?

no, not yellow...But, I have magenta issues, exactly like you mention.

  • On mine, I can run 951, and get another 100 good sheets out...but as soon as it goes into auto adjustment, it comes back.... If I remember right, it was a "cleaning" problem....?

I thought my old Igen was a headache this new one is even worse. I have got one good week out of this machine in two months.

We just had a new IGen 4 (matte toner) installed as well and had significant problems with Yellow spitting. Xerox went through many attempts to fix by doing things like adjusting the ratio of carrier and toner, changing electronic boards etc etc. Finally they just replaced the yellow unit and we havent had any spitting issues since.

I bet they got some crap parts from their manufacturer. Still dealing with it. Tech is here today to change some parts out.

Mine is Magenta too! So the Tech. replaced the Magenta housing after a lot of troubleshooting and parts replacement, and finally got it FIX! :)

Sometimes you can do a simple vacuuming of the developer housing while tapping on it with a screwdriver butt to loosen a lot of the old clumps of toner in there. (Don't forget the ground cable) The toner ratios are another possible fix. I'd just get Xerox to come fix it if you have a service contract with them.

  • spitting or toning? or both?
for spitting you can try cleaning the developer housing by putting a vacuum on the top port and tapping the housing with a blunt object to dislodge the clumps of toner.
