Xerox 1000i

    Anybody have one or had a demo on either the 800i or 1000i

    Yes. Just like the 800/1000 except for the addition of multipass clear, gold and silver inks.

    i have both the 800 and 1000 in my shop, not the i models though.

    They can be upgraded to the 1000i.

    Can the 800 or 1000 that already has the clear installed be changed to gold or silver?

    Yes it can as long as it has the 1000i software installed. Any 800/1000 should be able to take the upgrade...

    Does that mean there aren't any major changes? Does it have to have the FWA installed?

    I guess in theory it can be.....but the 1000i has a lot of other features beyond just the software...I'm not a tech guy but I don't think it would be worth the cost....

    Its all software. No, you dont need the FWA.
