    Hello Forum Friends!

I had an idea that I hope takes off:

I'm beginning this thread tolist as many fault codes as I've come in contact with, and any solutions, orthodox or otherwise, that I've used to clear them.

This is implying that the codes aren't just the ones that lead you to an "Adjustment" or "Maintenance" action you can find in the CMM. I'm talking about the ones also that give very little info as to WHY they happened.

I will post the codes I've encountered shortly...it'll be quite a bit of typing...and wanted to invite all of you to join in the fun.

    Ok, sorry for the wait.

This could get messy without having a format, so my thought is this:

    1. (Fault Code)
    2. (Active Status List Description of the Fault)
    3. (My actions to correct it...or lack of)
    4. (Additional Notes)

    I'll start with the 10's (XPE-10-....):
    -----------------------------------------------------

    1. XPE-10-3111
    2. Print Engine Fault: Roller not reaching temperature
    3. LOGIN as "psp", OPEN diagnostics (click "intrusive" box), select "dc 0330 component control" from e6miop menu, select either fuser folder "10a Fuser Components" or "10b Fuser Lamps".
    4. This will reset the temp setting, allowing the fuser to warm up completely. This fault usually occurs when swiping out a hot fuser roll with a cold one.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-10-3135
    2. Print Engine Fault: Pressure Roll Cam Motor Timeout Fault
    3. Click RESET

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-10-3217, 3220, 3221, 3225, 3229, 3259, 3261, 3414, 3415
    2. Print Engine Fault
    3. Click RESET
    4. These are various random Print Engine Faults that typically clear after clicking RESET. I've never had to perform further actions on them.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-10-4101 & 4105
    2. Print Engine Fault: Inboard (4101) / Outboard (4105) Thermistor didn't reach low temp in time. Ensure Connections.
    3. Check cable connections of the thermistors above the fuser roller. If they're secure, power down the PSIP and the press, then reboot. If it reoccurs, replace the offending thermistor.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-10-4113 & 4117
    2. Print Engine Fault: Restart the Press.
    3. Reboot the PSIP

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-10-4130
    2. Print Engine Fault: Pressure Roll Over Temp in EIP Mode Rap
    3. Pressure Roll has become too hot while making prints in EIP Mode. Allow for a cooldown period. Avoid printing duplex &/or stocks less than 180 gsm, that aren't on the Recommended Media List (RML)

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-10-4403
    2. Print Engine Fault: Fuser Low Temp.
    3. Click RESET

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-10-5002
    2. Print Engine Fault: Engine Warming Up
    3. Reboot the PSIP

    -------------------------

There's the first installment! Please add to it. I'll be adding my XPE-09-.... Faults soon.

On my 100 14.3x20.5 you'll love this one.
XPE-06-3025, 3026 Standard chevron IOI registration phase failed to converge at outboard and inboard MOB sensors. Reset Reset Reset Reset.
I put up with this for about month would happen up to 20 times a night. Xerox replaced the HAK twice and cleaning the MOB sensors two or three time a day. Just got fixed today. The ground wire for the ATA was loose.

    iGen3 Fault Codes
A fault code is a nine character alphanumeric string. There are approximately 1,700 machine detectable faults in the iGen3 system. You will find 75 of them in Section 2 of the CMM.
    Machine Module
    XPE -Print Engine (Marker output)
    X2F -Feeder
    XOS –Stacker
    XPI -Press Interface
    Functional Area
    01 -Power Generation
    02 -Mode Selection
    03 -Control and Communication
    04 -not used
    05 -not used
    06 -Image Path
    07 -Power Supply
    08 -Paper feed and Transport
    09 -Xerographics
    10 -Fusing and print transport
    11 -Stacking
    12 -Finishing (3rd party)
    13 -Environmental Control
    Sequence Number
If the functional area of a fault code is an 06 (Image Path) or an 09 (Xerographic) and the first number of the sequence number is a 4, then the last number of the sequence number is the color station that the fault code is coming from. A one (1) would indicate magenta, a two (2) Yellow, a three (3) Cyan and a four (4) black.

Example: XPE-09-4033 is xerographic fault coming from the cyan print unit. Note -XPE-07-xxxx is Paper Supply (Feeder) fault or condition prior to the sheet entering the paper path, at which time it would become "08" Paper Feed Prior to Transfer. When it has toner on it and becomes a print and then it's: "XPE-10-xxxx".

    Welcome to the forum, wengsky!

I'm glad this was useful...there's more to come!

I noticed you're running both an iGen3 & 4! How cool. I'm sure you'll be able to lend some insights to both, here on the forum. How long have you been operating each?

Can someone please pass the fault?

    Here's submission number 2, the XPE-09's:

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-1100
    2. Print Engine Fault: Cycle Up Convergence Timed Out
    3. Click RESET

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3005
    2. Print Engine Fault: Print Engine Steering Motor Failed To Find Home
    3. Click RESET
    4. I also recommended the iGen to look on craigslist for a new home. lol ...yeah okay, the iGen didn't laugh either.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3061
    2. Print Engine Fault: Transfer or Detack Dicorotron Shield Fault
    3. Click RESET
    4. Check the condition of both shields, perform a 50K cleaning or replace.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3092
    2. Print Engine Fault: Cleaner Power Supply Brush 1 Overcurrent
    3. Click RESET*
    4. *On one occasion this fault was the result of the laminate strip (that lays across the seam of the PR Belt) had come off, causing a repeated occurrence of this fault code. The solution in that case was to replace the PR Belt completely.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3103
    2. Print Engine Fault: Vacuum Loss at the Developer Trickle Valves
    3. Click RESET. If it reoccurs, call in a ticket and have a Tech come out to measure the vacuum pressure. If that's not the case, it may be due to a little regulator switch malfunctioning, located just between the yellow and cyan developer housing. (pictured below)
    4. This fault will happen at random times: during the upcycle after releasing a job, or even in the middle of printing a job. It's a total pain! Old vacuum lines can get cracks and cause loss in pressure. Seals can go bad as well. There seems to be several things that can cause this fault code. I have yet to find a permanent solution.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3163
    2. Print Engine Fault: Inboard ETAC LED Intensity Out Of Range
    3. Click RESET. If fault persists, replace the ETAC sensor.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3166
    2. Print Engine Fault: Rear ETAC Clean Patch Fault
    3. Clean ETAC sensors, then run Xerographic Setup (dC0951).

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3503
    2. Print Engine Fault: Patch Generator LED Intensity Convergence Fault
    3. Click RESET

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-3028, 4051-4054 (all at same time)
    2. Print Engine Fault: PreTransfer HVPS Missing 15DC or 36DC
    3. Click RESET

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-4113
    2. Print Engine Fault: Station 3 Scorotron Fault
    3. Make sure it is fully seated. Clean or replace it. Click RESET.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-4301 & 4304 (happens during Xerographic Setup)
    2. Print Engine Fault: Charge PR Residual Voltage Too High
    3. Click RESET

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-4691-4694 (Ending in "1" = Mag, "2" = Yellow, etc.)
    2. Print Engine Fault: Developer TC Sensor Open Circuit
    3. The harness for the specific color wasn't fully plugged in.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-4744
    2. Print Engine Fault: Charge Discorotron Grid To PR Slope Out of Range
    3. Shut down PSIP & the Press. Reboot
    4. The NVMs are out of whack.

    -------------------------

    1. XPE-09-8000
    2. Print Engine Fault: Max Limit for System Deadcycle Exceeded
    3. Place a service call and request a new iGen. Or click RESET under the "grin&bearit" tab.
    4. Let me know which one works better for you.

    -------------------------

Please add yours to the mix! ...until next time, keep those presses running!

Here is a trick I use for this one.
    1. XPE-09-4301 & 4304 (happens during Xerographic Setup)
    2. Print Engine Fault: Charge PR Residual Voltage Too High
    3. Click RESET
Do 106 color gamut just 10 sheets of paper though the press will take the charge off. Then do the 951. I do it every belt change.
That is my 2 cents over and out.

    Hello!

I'd like to encourage anyone that has had experience with any of the listed fault codes to post any additional notes. OR, if you know of a fault NOT LISTED, post it!! Even if it seems insignificant, it could possibly be the resource someone else is looking for.

Thanks to all who've posted so far!
