    Hello CPF friends,

I'm curious if any of you iGen Operators perform some sort of regular maintenance on your Pressure Roller.
I was never given any official training on the part, but I've seen how paper dust accumulates and needs to be removed.

    Thanks for your input.

All that I ever do is clean daily. I have changed one out before. What kind of issues are you having?

Thanks for the quick replies, you two.

My main issue is paper dust buildup, especially under the plate that covers the left side of the roller along its length. I wipe it down when needed and clean the stripper fingers almost every day, as the paper buildup on them is obvious. The results of the buildup have been gouges & streaks on the pressure roll surface that affect the quality of the prints, even to the point of damaging the fuser roll & needing replacement.

I think I'll start cleaning it daily. Thanks again!

The presser roller is actually serviceable part, though it is meant to be a engineer hfsi, but it is fairly easy and we do it ourselves every now and again. But that's because our egineer let's us!

Hopefuflly I am of some help, and don't be afraid to log a call to xerox for it!

What I've had happen before is that the stripper fingers were not adjusted right which caused gouges on the pressure roll. Service had to adjust them. There is still some normal wear & tear put not to the point that damage is occurring to Fuser.
